Futball what?????

The World Cup is here!!!!! Yeah, I am sure most of you are thinking, 'World Cup what???', cause that is exactly what I was thinking. I mean, I have heard of the World Cup, and I knew it was a soccer tournament, but I had no idea how BIG it was all over the world. The people go crazy for this event. About a month ago I noticed a lot of people wearing Korean World Cup shirts. I didn't pay much attention then, but now that the WC has started I can understand the hype. This place has gone crazy for soccer, oh by the way its called 'Futball'. So I decided to buy into this excitement and I went out and bought an 'I Love Korea' 'Red Devils' shirts. The Korean futball team calls themselves the Red Devils. Everyone in Korea was excited for the first game against Togo (have any of you ever heard of this country because I sure haven't, I even spent fifteen minutes looking on a world map), even my Kindies were talking about the WC. Bum was really excited about the WC too, so I decided I needed to learn about the WC so I could enjoy this event. I went to a website for women to learn about the WC. I gained valuable knowledge about the rules and the hottie players. If you wanna check it out go here. Last Tuesday was the first game against Togo and I decided to go to city hall to watch the game on some huge TV screens. There was literally about a million people in the streets wearing red shirts and cheering for Korea. The streets were very organized, with all of the people actually sitting on the street to watch the game. Can you imagine a million people nice enough to make sure everyone had an equal chance to view the game. They were still very enthusiastic and shouting "Dae Ha Min Gook" (means Korea, yeah Korea is easier to say). Everyone was drinking and having a good time. I bought some beer from this mini pick up truck (one of the only trucks I have seen thus far) and it was only $2. I know I would have paid at least double in The USA and would not have been able to wander the streets with it in hand. When Togo got a red card, everyone jumped up and and this Korean guy hugged me and said "Redeh cardeh" I took that has red card and I jumped up and down also. A bit after that Korea scored their first goal and the place went insane, I had three guys jump on me then screaming. I was told later that guys often take this opportunity to get acquainted with girls and there are a lot of 'World Cup' babies. Even though the WC is being held in Germany, Korea is celebrating as it was here. There is a game tomorrow morning at 4 am and one of my Korean friends asked me to go to City hall with them. I declined because although the game was very exciting, I still prefer my rest, afterall I did have to work that day.
