So Sad Too Bad

Last Friday I woke up at 9am and worked all day, then I hit the gym (instead of taking a nap like I planned). I got home about 8 pm and hit the shower. I was in for a long night, and I was making sure I was prepared. I had to meet Sok Hyun and his friends at 11:30 pm so we could go to City Hall to watch the fourth Futball game for Korea. Jen and I put on our 'I Love Korea' shirts and Red Devil horns and headed to the subway around 11 pm. I have to say, that Korean people were really impressed with Jen and I wearing the Korean apparel. Everyone was shouting 'Go Korea' and 'Da han min gook'. While we were waiting for our train, a girl even asked to take our picture. Then we got on the craziest train ride I have ever been on. It was a sea of red. I couldn't believe how many people were wearing the Red Devil shirts. Jen and I stood infront of these two older men (about 50 years old). They kept telling us, that we were soooo beautiful (which is nice at first but then annoying). Then they asked the two guys sitting next to them to stand up so we could sit next to them. I absolutely did not want to sit next to these creepy older men. They were insisting we sit next to them and I tried using the little bit of Korean I knew to say no thank you. Everyone on the train was laughing including myself, they were really persistent. Finally Jen yelled "Ok, OK I will sit down!!!!" I still refused and I sure am glad I didn't cause they started pawing at Jen. It was no longer funny and we got up and moved to another part of the train. I wish I could say this was really unusual, but unfortunately, this type of thing has happened a number of times including today, but more about that another time. We arrived at City Hall and it was unbelieveable. Jen's friend T met us and brought us to where we had seats on the STREET. But I didn't mind because this game was super important because if they won, Korea was in the top 16, but if they lost Korea was out. Even though the game didn't start till 4 am on Saturday morning, we had to go earlier to get seats ( I heard people were showing up at noon on Friday to get good seats). They did have an amazing concert of some really famous Korean singers and rappers to keep you busy while you waited. I recognized the songs from the Korean music station I watch every morning while I get ready for work. I was actually really impressed because this concert was free. Well, we sat down at midnight and were ready to wait. The atmosphere was incredible. There was no way I was going to fall asleep waiting for this game. Jen and I loaded up on alcohol and Sok Hyun and his friends brought food. We were also with some of Jen's other friends too, so there was probably about 10 of us all together. Of course Jen and I were the only whiteys. We started mixing drinks until we found out that the line for the bathroom was about an hour long!!!! That ended my liquid consuption right then. Luckily I made it all the way until I went home before I had to pee (Thank you bladder). I am actually surprised that I never got bored waiting for the game. They had these guys with drums walking around shouting in Korean and singing songs with the crowd. They even asked me to stand up and bang on the drums with them. I had some pics of it, but honestly I looked really fat in them so I opted to leave them out. The game started at 4 am and I got a burts of energy, that engery held until Switzerland scored their second goal. There was no way for Korea to win after that and thats when I started to feel very sleepy. The game ended around 6 am; since the subways open at 5:30 we were able to take it home. We walked to a station farther away so we wouldn't be pushed by the crowd. I got home a little after seven and then talked to B about the game on the phone for about an hour. Finally I went to sleep after 8 am, I was almost awake 24hrs straight. Then I woke up at noon so I slept less then four hours. Errrrrr, what I do for futbal<3 style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4906/2863/200/P1010067.jpg" border="0">
